Rudder torque 85KgM
For larger vessels, and those demanding increased protection from exposure to heavy conditions, the Model 210, 213 and 216 cylinders offer the ultimate choice in marine steering. Using chrome-plated brass, bronze and stainless steel, these powerful cylinders are ideally suited to both pleasure and light commercial vessels. Fully insulated to help prevent electrolysis and designed for in-fi eld service, these larger systems are available in either kit form or individual components as required.
 HyDrive has a wide range of hydraulic steering for in-boards, jet-drives and larger vessels demanding increased protection from exposure in heavy conditions. The Admiral series of inboard kits offers a powerful and economical alternative to traditional cable or mechanical steering systems on boats up to 15 metres.

- Optional Helm Wedge – (WEDGE-401) – 20 Degree Wedge to Suit the 401 or 501 Helm Pumps – allows 0-20 degree adjustment to cater for an angled dash.

Hydrive Helm Wedge
- Optional Rear Mount (Helm) Kit – Adding his unit means the steering wheel/helm does not protrude into the helmsman’s space so much as part of the helm mechanism can be recessed behind the dash. It fits any model 401,402 and 501 helm unit – adjustable from low-profile to full protrusion for maximum flexibility in helm placement. Simply trim the spacers and studs to adjust the amount of penetration into the helm position. The front dash or console ring is fully O-ring sealed against pump body to prevent water ingress to the rear of the console. Easy to fit – easy to adjust – looks great. (REAR MOUNT KIT)

Selection of steering for inboard rudders is not as simple as for outboard or sterndrive powered vessels. Each rudder design has it’s own characteristics which are affected by vessel speed, propeller diameter/pitch, horsepower, tunnels, nozzles etc and this makes selection a matter of calculation, rather than selecting one model to suit all. There is a questionnaire available from Hydrive’s Australian website (or your dealer) which, when completed gives all information required to calculate the rudder torques on your vessel. Keep in mind that there is no single formula which can take all types of vessel into account.. We need more information than simply the rudder dimensions, to give you peace of mind that the unit recommended will perform safely and correctly. - Autopilot Options: – Admiral Series helm units are designed for use with hydraulic autopilots, and have in-built lock valves and balance-line ports to ensure simple and economic installation. The HD Series helm units are also designed for use with hydraulic autopilots and require the fitting of external lock valves (Part No 331C or 318C) to isolate the helm from the pilot pump unit.
