The Commander Series is designed to offer a budget range of hydraulic steering to leisure boat users without sacrificing quality and performance. These Australian made powerful hydraulic steering systems are built to suit the harsh marine environment for long lasting smooth reliable operation.
The Commander Series of Bullhorn Kits are designed for use on pleasure boats up to 200HP Single Outboards or Dual Outboards Counter-rotating Props up to 400HP. They have an aluminium cylinder design, with unique electrolytic insulation between metals for maximum corrosion resistance.
Is This the Right Kit for My Boat?
Bull Horn type steering kits are by far the most popular steering systems for outboard motors as they are compact, robust, simple to install and require the minimum amount of clearance in an engine well.
Measure the narrowest section of your engine well – the bull horn kits are all 540mm wide plus they need a little extra room for the engine to turn so ideally you’ll need Clearance (C) approx 560-600mm , as the cylinder tilts down with the motor you need to ensure this has room in front of the motor both Clearance (A) & Clearance (B) approx 120 – 150mm . Measure carefully, particularly with tapered wells

Easy Installation:
These Hydrive Commander small-boat steering kits make it a very simple DIY installation.
Installation of HyDrive steering equipment is very simple. From the minute you open the box and begin to read the comprehensive instructions, you will find the system has been designed to be installed by even the most inexperienced boating enthusiast, without any hydraulic knowledge. Everything you need is included, right down to the nuts, bolts, and Loctite.

Admiral Kits – Admiral Kits suit single outboards to 300hp or twins to 600hp. Admiral Kits are for Commercial or Recreational Use.

While other brands use anodised or painted aluminum cylinders, the HyDrive Admiral Series Kits use Chromed Brass, Bronze and Stainless steel materials – built for the toughest marine environment.
